Spotted: Megan Fox in UGG Classic Cardy Boots

November 28, 2009 • By Erika

It-girl-of-the-moment Megan Fox was recently photographed with beau Brian Austin Green and Brian’s son Kassius at Sherman Oaks Mall last November 18. She was spotted wearing UGG’s Classic Cardy Boots in gray.

We’ve featured Uggs before (in fact, we just wrote about a pair in our last blog post), but this particular style is quite the popular one.

Celebrities in UGG Classic Cardy Boots

From L to R: Denise Richards, Ashley Greene, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Katie Price

However, despite the numerous celebs who vouch for these boots, sweater boots don’t seem to be as accepted in the fashion industry. Is it because of their lazy appearance and that they look like only kids should be wearing them? Is it because of the UGG (“UGG-ly” shoes) name? Or is the fact that so many mainstream celebs are wearing it the very reason why they’re so – as Karl Lagerfeld would say, – demode?

You can’t deny that sweater boots are really warm and cozy though. Forget that you have to be very careful not to get them dirty (Denise Richards’ in the picture above look like they need to be cleaned real soon), sweater boots are great footwear to just lounge in.

Sweater Boots

1. Bearpaw Knit Tall in black, $89.99. USA’s answer to Australia’s UGGs. They retail for $50 less than the UGGs – why pay more for the same thing?

2. Slipper Boot from Timberland in black, $70.99 (on sale at 30% off at Shoes.com). The adorable wooden toggle buttons at the back make you forget that they’re very sock-like in front.

3. Apple Bottoms Hazel in purple, $80. A little dressier version of the sweater boot but it still looks like a sock with buckles on them.

4. Guess Buster in dark brown suede, $179. The most glam of them all. They’re still pull-on boots but you’re definitely not going to be just lounging around in these. Just included them to show that sweater boots can be dressy!

If you still prefer the UGG Classic Cardy Boots, buy them from Shoes.com. Any purchase of UGG Australia footwear $50 or more from their website entitles you to a $20 gift code!
