5 Lace-Up Boots in 5 Different Styles

January 10, 2010 • By Erika

The lace-up boot is the up and coming trend for footwear this year!

All the time needed to weave the shoelaces into the eyelets isn’t even slowing down the lace-up boot’s dizzying rise to becoming one of the hottest early trends for 2010.

The ┬ácombat boot is the front-running variation of this trend, but other styles are fast catching up. We’re seeing the lace-up style on footwear such as open toe shoes, wedges, and even gladiator sandals. But because the weather dictates that now isn’t the right time for those kinds of shoes, we’ve focused on boots and searched for the best lace-up versions we could find.

Check out our top 5 picks of lace-up boots in different styles:

1. UGG Elsey Boots (Sold Out)

Didn’t think these dressy lace-up boots were UGGs, huh? Well neither did we, at first. UGG Australia explores their more fashionable side and came up with these UGG Elsey Boots in a stylish lace-up style with a wedge rubber heel.

2. Aerosoles Squishing Trip Boots

Even winter boots got in on the act. These furry Aerosoles boots lace up with suede ribbons, looped through gunmental eyelets.

3. Minnetonka Knee High Fringe Boots

Kate Moss is a fan of these knee high moccasin fringe boots!

4. Pour La Victoire Kerry Lace Up Flat Boots

Victorian-inspired and slightly gothic, these lace-up boots are reminiscent (or dare we say, are knockoffs) of the Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2008 Triple Lace Up Boots. These are still expensive, but nowhere near the eye-popping $1,795 price tag on the Ann Demeulemeesters.

5. Jeffrey Campbell Robbie Lace Up Booties

We couldn’t resist adding a combat boot to this list, although these ones look more like a cross between riding boots and a schoolboy’s shoes. Scuff these lace-up booties to get the full effect.
