Trashy or Flashy? Review of Australia Luxe Collective Slouch Thigh-High Boots

This was supposed to be included in yesterday’s post about Australia Luxe Collective boots, but this deserved a blog entry all on its own.

Have you ever seen anything like it? These, ladies and gentlemen, are ugg boots made slouchy AND thigh-high:

Okay, we know that it’s all about thigh-high boots this winter season and Australia Luxe Collective is all about fashion forward designs, but does that mean that they should adopt every single trend for their ugg boots? Thigh high boots and ugg boots are difficult enough to wear on their own without getting the head-to-toe stares, so to wear thigh high ugg boots is almost like asking the world to scrutinize you.

If you’re wondering what in the world those thigh flaps are made out of, well, they’re made out of leather. They don’t even match with the chocolate brown color of the uggs themselves – the leather looks reddish and very much off-shade in the picture. Maybe they look better in real life, but we have yet to see a normal person-on-the-street wearing them.

They’re also meant to be worn folded down and slouched around the calf. The lining inside the leather panel appears to be made of a waterproof material (which is good for sheepskin boots), but it makes the slouch effect look more wrinkly than anything else:

Again, maybe it’s just the picture. Net-a-porter impeccably styled these thigh-high ugg boots with a knit cardigan and blue jeans, but we still can’t get over how red (and not brown!) the leather panels are compared to the chocolate uggs:
