Angelina Jolie has been criticized many times for her boring outfits. She’s always stuck to greys, whites, and blacks and except for a few shining moments, hardly ever strays away from this colorless palette.
Her loyalty to neutrals has brought about one good thing though: she has gotten really, really good at choosing her basics. Angelina may not like colorful or trendy clothes, but all her wardrobe staples are choice and top of the line.
Angelina displayed this honed skill when paparazzi spotted her last March 16 in Venice, Italy, the location for her new film The Tourist. She was out with 4 of her kids and was wearing these knee-high suede boots:

There’s really nothing notable about Angelina’s boots except they fit her amazingly well. That’s the key to basics anyways – how it fits and not how it looks.
Another one of Angelina’s basic yet stylish outfits is this getup she wore to go shopping at Whole Foods in Sherman Oaks some time in January:

Angelina may be wearing a shapeless grey poncho, but those-over-the-knee boots are very on trend. But even so, Angelina still sticks to understated chic and chose a flat-soled rounded toe design as opposed to a trendier high-heeled form-fitting style.
As I’ve said, the trick to basics and a style like Angelina’s is FIT. Try on as many boots as you like until you get the perfect one. I suggest knee-high high heel suede boots like the Roberto Cavalli MPS081 PZ161s:
Roberto Cavalli MPS081 PZ161, marked down to $996.00
Or the much less expensive Bandolino Solar:
Bandolino Solar, now only $126.71
As for the over-the-knee boots, Angelina’s exact pair is the Stuart Weitzman 50/50:
Stuart Weitzman 50/50, $595.00
A cheaper alternative to these boots is the Vaneli Ribes:
Vaneli Ribes, $252.95
