Deliciously Devilish Ballet Boots from Devious

March 22, 2010 • By Erika

I’ve had this blog post on the back burner for a while now because (1) it took me a while to remember where I first saw these boots and (2) it’s a pair of boots that’ll leave you speechless.

I mean, just look at them:

Devious Ballet-1020

As one of the customers who bought these boots said, these are NOT the ballet shoes that you know.

I looked up the company who makes these shoes and Devious, one of the 6 labels under Pleaser USA, is the brand that specializes in sexy fetish footwear. This description made me remember where I first saw this ballet boot design: in pictures of filmmaker David Lynch’s Fetish exhibit in 2007, featuring shoe designs of none other than the world’s most fetishized shoemaker himself, Christian Louboutin.

Christian Louboutin said that the shoes he designed for the exhibit were made without any practicality and comfort in mind, so these cruelly twisted shoes were thankfully for display purposes only. However, that didn’t stop the likes of Beyonce from wearing them and even had her dancers balancing in the super high-heeled ballet boots in her “Green Light” video.

Fine, it’s Beyonce and she’s a performer so she can wear these boots, but never would I have thought that these would be popular enough for someone to actually sell them in stores. Devious and Pleaser USA did just that and even came up with even more variations of the ballet boot:

Over-the-knee / thigh high ballet boots: Devious Ballet-3000

Under lock and key: Devious Ballet-1025

Do you think you can rock the ballet boot? The Louboutins are 10 inches high while the Devious ones are a more forgiving 7 inches.
