Trendspotting: Booties with Foldover Collars as Seen on Miley Cyrus and Mary Kate Olsen

I’ve been seeing these cuffed booties with foldover collars everywhere, it’s ridiculous. It’s one thing when celebs wear a particular article of clothing separately and over a course of a few weeks or so, but when they start wearing something one after the other and even to the same event, you know you’ve got a very hot trend coming up.

I wonder if Miley Cyrus and Victoria Justice crossed paths? I hope they didn’t because they were wearing the exact same pair of Alexander Wang Freja Laced Zip Boots. Good thing Miley decided to skip orange carpet arrivals this year and opted to slip past the cameras quietly with her parents.

And these are the Alexander Wang Freja Laced Zip Boots up close. Over half the price of the Balmains at $635.00, but still expensive.

These booties with foldovers collars, though nice, look like they’re just going to be a fad. I think I’d rather wait until Steve Madden or Forever21 comes up with their version of these boots. They’re going to be blatant knockoffs for sure, but I’m not one to pay hundreds of dollars for a passing trend.
