Ashlee Simpson Alluring in Alaia Lace-Front Peep Toe Ankle Boots

Ashlee Simpson and and older sister Jessica were seen paying a visit to their lawyer in Century City in California yesterday. The singing sisters apparently had a lot of legal matters to settle because they attended what ended up being a nine-hour-long meeting at their lawyer’s office.

I wonder if they also talked about Jessica Simpson’s upcoming wedding in November? Anyway, check out the chic business outfit Ashlee put together for the client-lawyer meeting.

I love how fashionable the definition of “business attire” is among the people in Hollywood. I mean, how often can you wear Alaia lace-up peep toe booties to a work-related meeting and actually get away with it?

Ashlee’s Alaia booties are the ultimate in chicness and I know that many stylish people are dying to get their hands on it (or should I say, dying to get their feet in it?). But despite their $1,805.00 price tag and how few retailers actually stocked them, Ashlee’s Alaia booties have long since sold out.

But don’t despair – other lower-priced shoe labels seem to be on an Alaia kick lately and have started taking, um, “inspiration” from the Tunisian-born designer.

One of them is Sam Edelman who came out with this Kellan wedge which you can clearly see where it got its design inspiration from:

Another is this Carma bootie from Vince Camuto which would have been the perfect low-cost alternative if only it had a stiletto heel:

But I think I’m liking the thicker stacked heel on these Vince Camuto booties anyways because it makes them look more stable and actually more wearable than the Alaias for me.

If your heart is really set on the Alaias, you can shop for similar Alaia booties and other Alaia shoes at discounted prices at Bluefly.
