Well, now, as you can see, the Steve Madden Tolteca draws inspiration from the Cobra Society Otto boots. The shaft is made slouchy and it has leather harness straps around the ankle, but the western-inspired style, the Neo-Navajo look,  and Cobra Society’s distinguishable woven wool + brushed leather combination are all there.

The Cobra Society Otto boots in our Jessica Alba feature are the black olive color. So you can better compare the Steve Maddens to the Cobra Societys, here’s the madder root color of the Cobra Society Otto boots which Steve Madden drew inspiration from to make their Tolteca boots:

Having your original designs copied is never a good thing for most designers but nothing says “It” status like getting your own knockoffs. And judging by how quickly the Steve Madden Toltecas  were made, the Cobra Society Otto boot’s “It” status is pretty much guaranteed.
