Can You Guess Who Makes This Strappy Boot?

When I saw this strappy bootie among the new arrivals at Neiman Marcus today, I could not believe that it’s from the designer that the description says it’s from.

My first guesses were either it’s from Michael Kors, because he always makes great gladiator-style shoes, or from Brian Atwood, because of his current crop of tomboyish yet sexy shoe designs.

There are of course plenty of other high-end and low-end shoe labels from which you could expect booties like this but the designer who does make this shoe? He’s somewhere near the bottom of my ‘guesses list’.

What about you, can you guess or did you immediately know who makes this strappy boot?

Now that I look back on the all the Louboutins we’ve already featured here on our blog, I guess you can sort of expect this bootie design to come from Christian Louboutin. Still, it comes as a surprise to me especially since this is supposed to be a spring 2012 style.

No fun, bright colors, slim straps or sexy stilettos for this particular Louboutin — it’s all chunky straps, sharp cuts, and a steep, platformless pitch. The only warm weather-like feature on this bootie is that stacked heel and even then, it’s still a thick, blocky 4 3/4″ column heel.

I guess the fact that Christian Louboutin always manages to surprise you with unexpected things is why he is THE reigning king of the shoe industry.
