Fun Time: Quirky, Color-Savvy Boots

September 15, 2012 • By Karla Mae

Who doesn’t love some display of colors? Even the moodiest fashionista goes for a streak of vermillion or a splash of turquoise with a dark wardrobe. Color-savvy boots, such as the quirky designs from Anthropologie, give us the necessary (or much desired) pop of color to everyday outfits.

  • Icelandic label Kron by Kronkron gives us a memorable, fairy-tale-like pair of boots via a color-blocked creation with swirling panels of forest hues as well as chunky heels. Dark tights and an equally playful dress would give this pair its happily ever after, although it would be just as riveting¬†with pants.

  • Jasper & Jeera is responsible for two of our cute color choices. The Yuma booties are blue waxed-suede desert boots that also come in orange and yellow.

  • The real stunner though is the Pom Tapestry mid-boots. They may look like a primary-color wheel, but we admit we can wear them with anything. ANYTHING. These boots boast of a great texture, which is why they were featured at Anthropologie with another pair of boots.

  • Holding Horses’ Textile Study wedge boots are quite blatantly gray. But the embroidered cuffs in neo-native style make these suede lace-ups a standout.

  • The terra-cotta-hued Lyra booties from Bellissima by Dolce Vita may look just like a slip-on version of the Yuma, but this pair comes in shimmery suede (and anything shimmery always makes our list). Plus its sleek look says “hip urbanite,” which is just how we like to see ourselves.

  • Finally, knee-high boots need not be just black, just brown, or just one color. LeifNotes’ color-blocked boots explore options with colored leather panels livened up by asymmetrical cuts.
