Fantastic Designer Find: Proenza Schouler’s Peep-Toe Sport Booties!

November 28, 2012 • By Karla Mae

It’s the end-of-season sale for the designer boutique in Shopbop, and while we expected to score some great deals and finds, we certainly didn’t expect to see what we can closely call as the boots of the year.

Proenza Schouler is admittedly not a familiar name for our boot choices (we are big fans of the PS1 and PS2 satchels), but when we saw this hip and modern take on grungy, thick-heeled boots, we promised to pay their footwear full attention from now on.

Proenza Schouler Peep-Toe Sport Booties, $1,578.50

The peep-toe sport booties may be your open-toed alternative to the sneaker wedges from See by Chloe that are taking the world by storm — except that this pair is a heady mix of patterns and designs that give off a runway rather than a commercial feel. You’ll first notice that it has a quilted collar. This stands atop its leather shaft, which sports a quirky woven pattern in black and white. Then, Velcro straps secure the brogue-ish split front.

Especially striking is the back for its corseted heel cap and the bold blue patent heel. It’s insanely gorgeous and would look amazing with other finds at the sale! So, while it is slightly avant-garde, we think it is very much wearable.

We think it would look fantastic with a very modern hooded dress from T by Alexander Wang, a bold Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet, and a sleek messenger bag from See by Chloe.

Clockwise: Proenza Schouler Peep-Toe Sport Booties, $1,578.50; Marc by Marc Jacobs Jacobson Logo Logo Bracelet, $39; T by Alexander Wang Hooded Long Sleeve Draped Dress, $126; See by Chloe Adele Cross Body Bag, $276.50
