Those Cobra Society Otto boots we spotted on Jessica Alba in October has sparked a trend in boots in a major way. We knew that those Cobra Societys were going to be “It” boots. The fact that they already had a knockoff just about a month after their release shows just how hot and in demand they are!

Steve Madden was first to come out with a low-cost version of the Cobra Society Otto boots, this ‘Tolteca’ boot with higher stacked heel, an added buckled harness strap and a slouched-down style:

Now we’re seeing distressed leather boots with patterned woven blanket inserts all over the place. Freebird by Steven recently came out with this ‘Caballero’ boot that comes closest to the look of the original Cobra Society Otto boots:

But not all woven blanket and leather boots out there are trying to copy the Cobra Societys. Frye only used their old ‘Shirley’ boot style for this newest trend but the effect is totally new and fresh while still retaining its vintage appeal:

We also spotted the trend on this Bed Stu ‘Hacienda’ boot. Instead of a cowboy boot, Bed Stu used a lace-up boot and also used the woven blanket fabric panels on other places other than the shaft:

Vanessa Hudgens was all smiles after treating herself to a spa session at Verabella Skin Therapy in Beverly Hills last Wednesday.

Her smooth and freshly scrubbed skin was definitely glowing but naturally, our eyes immediately fell on those tantalizing two-tone boots on her feet:

Those boots are headturners for sure even though they’re not colorful, sparkly or covered in studs. In fact, they’re even a little tomboyish. But that, coupled with a five-inch heel and a two-inch platform, is exactly what gives ‘em their rugged yet sexy appeal.

As you can see from the pictures, the top buckled straps aren’t connected to the rest of the boot shaft making them look like they’re leg cuffs instead. The chunky heels are tapered at the bottom which makes for an interesting detail. These have an inner side zip for easy on and off wear. These originally $268.00 boots are now marked down to $149.95 at Free People.

Although listed at $279.95, you can find a few more sizes of these boots in brown at Solestruck. They’re also on sale for $188.95 at Karmaloop but they only have a couple of sizes left. Its other color, a grey and black combo, still has complete sizes in stock. That color is also on sale for $149.95 — shop for it at Free People!

Even Jennifer Aniston’s choice of boots here are edgier and more rock n’ roll than what were used to seeing on her. Jennifer Aniston’s boots are these ‘Leonie’ booties from designer Alexander Wang, fashion industry’s “boy wonder” who is also often inspired by rock grunge and gritty rock n’ roll himself:

Like the notched heel and the cutout back, Alexander Wang threw in the extended panel at the tongue on this boot as an unexpected element. It’s clearly what makes this boot a standout but Jennifer Aniston disappointingly decided to hide that under her jeans.
