Nicole Richie enjoyed a day out with her 3-year-old daughter Harlow at the Malibu Fair held in Malibu, California last Saturday.

Nicole was of course dressed in her signature bohemian style and wore her own designs from her Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960 clothing lines.

For that gorgeous day at the fair, Nicole wore a Winter Kate Moonbeam silk ivory blouse paired with Paige Premium Denim Silverlake shorts. She kept the sun off her face with a Tom Ford wide-brimmed floppy hat and a pair of House of Harlow 1960 Emily sunglasses, and toted her things in a Simone Camille handbag.

After celebrating her husband Scott Disick’s 28th birthday in Las Vegas, Kourtney Kardashian was seen spending some down time with her son Mason in New York last Memorial Day weekend.

The yummy mummy left the tight mini dresses and heels at home and opted for a denim shirt and black leggings combo for the one-on-one day with her son.

If they’re in any way affected by Billy Ray Cyrus’ revealing interview with GQ released just yesterday, they’re doing a good job of not showing it. The mom and daughter tandem blissfully chatted, completely unmindful of the paparazzi, while they made their way towards the restaurant.

Anyway, let’s leave the personal matters behind and focus only on what’s relevant to our blog – Miley Cyrus’ boots. For this brunch date with her mom, Miley wore a fringed, lace-up, knee high pair from one of her favorite brands, Minnetonka:

Gwen Stefani Lamb Lover in Mou Tall Suede Boots

Gwen Stefani may have not attended the 2011 Golden Globe Awards in person last January 16th, but she was there via telecast. The 41-year-old singer / rockstar / fashion designer is now the new face of L’Oreal Paris too, and her first commercial for the cosmetics brand aired during the awards show.

Congratulations to Gwen Stefani for adding another feather to her already full cap!

So this begs the question: while the rest of Tinseltown was at the Golden Globes Awards last Sunday, where was Gwen Stefani?

We’re actually not quite sure either, but aside from spending quality time with her boys, Gwen’s been spotted out quite a lot at LA recording studios. She was also seen visiting a fellow No Doubt bandmate’s place somewhere in Los Feliz, California last January 12th, and here are the pictures to prove it:

Does this mean that we’ll be hearing new music from No Doubt very soon? If that were true, that would really be something to look forward to this 2011!

With that wool coat, scarf, thick leggings and cable knit sweater, I think Gwen was the most bundled up among all the LA-based celebrities snapped that same day. But as they say, feeling cold is relative and maybe Gwen Stefani gets cold easily? Anyway, the boots are cute and they’re a nice departure from all the fierce black boots Gwen Stefani likes to wear.

Kate Hudson has always had a love affair with fringe. Though it has been a while since we last saw Kate Hudson wearing the stringy trim, she recently rekindled that love once again when she went out for a walk in New York City with boyfriend Matt Belamy last Wednesday:

Kate Hudson was already bundled up in her long grey coat but that didn’t seem to be enough because Kate had to hold her collar tight against her neck. She also kept close to Matt Belamy to keep warm – a smart yet also a sweet move all the same.

Kate Hudson was only simply dressed that chilly day yet she still managed to make her outfit interesting through her choice of boots. Fringe on boots, or anything for that matter, is a no-brainer way to add texture to any ol’ outfit. Nicole Richie has already proven her designing chops with her successful jewelry line so when she announced last year that she was going to come out with a footwear collection for House of Harlow in 2010, not just a few fashion blogs eagerly anticipated to see how Nicole’s next foray into the fashion biz will turn out.

Clearly, we can see that Nicole stuck to her boho chic roots. The whipstitch detail on the back of the pumps, the tribal embroidery on the black booties, and the beaded Native American moccasins all tie beautifully with the existing hippie-inspired House of Harlow jewelry line and Nicole’s own style. Nicole said it herself: she won’t design something that she herself won’t wear and these shoes look like they were just taken from her own closet.

I say that Nicole Richie has a hit with this collection. She’s given us a wide range of choices (from flats to booties to sky-high heels), and they’re not in the usual style that we typically see from other celebrity lines. Nicole’s own preference and taste are very apparent in this footwear collection and for a clothing line whose success lies in the people’s interest in what Nicole Richie wears, that’s a very, very good thing.

The stitched-on soles, the intricate beading, and not to mention Nicole Richie’s name could very well put this shoe collection in the range of other expensive celebrity clothing lines, but House of Harlow is surprisingly reasonably priced.
