Oh Tina Fey, how we love thee, awkward stance, weird facial expressions and all.

Tina Fey was at the Letterman show to promote her latest movie Date Night with Steve Carell. This on top of all her other jobs as a writer, an actress, a producer, and mom to a 4-year old girl. She’s an extremely powerful woman in entertainment but she just comes off as so adorable in these pictures, you can’t help but relate to her even when she’s got her own bodyguard to hold an umbrella for her.

Trainingheels over at Shoe Blog wrote about falling in love with a pair of fire engine red boots that were on sale. Paparazzi spotted Rachel Bilson last week going to a meeting in a pair fabulous knee-high red boots. Even the seemingly impossible-to-wear-in-real-life Prada Wader Boots were seen out and about, on the feet of no other than Jessica Alba.

Red is obviously very much in season, but how red can you go?

Rachel Bilson’s boots are a darker, almost brown red so that shade is probably the safest. The dynamite red on the boots that trainingheels loved so much is a bit trickier, but still a color most women can use to brighten up a drab outfit. But the Pradas? Not only are they a difficult orange red hue, but that unflattering triangular shape with the column heels make them even more complicated to wear. But that’s not stopping celebs like Jessica Alba and Lady Gaga from wearing the harnessed rubber boots – after all, they are Prada.

Anyway, there are a lot of signs that winter is on its last legs and one of them is fashion’s color chart evolution from pale, wintry hues to richer, juicier palettes. Take rubber rain boots for example. They used to be plain, boring, and ugly, but because they’re footwear that women wear, someone was bound to turn them into a fashionable piece of clothing. We first had rain boots in all sorts of colors, now we’re seeing them in polka-dots, in croc skin, and even in motorcycle boot style (check out some really stylish rain boots we featured before).

As for the men, well… they need shoes too. But function often trumps fashion when it comes to men’s tastes, and to have them together in one shoe is a very difficult balancing act.

Not bad for a pair of boots our moms made us wear when we were kids.

The classic Snowjogger we used to know recently underwent a major makeover, and LA design house Joyrich transformed them from nostalgic, thing-of-the-past footwear into hip, chic, street-slick sneaker boots:

A word of warning though: these boots may take you on a fun trip down memory lane, but the latest modifications have proven to be purely aesthetic for the meantime. The patent leather looks all nice and shiny, but cold weather will make them crack and crumble possibly beyond repair. Best to wear these boots in mildly cool climates, maybe like in L.A. where they were designed in the first place.

These may not be the boots to choose for jogging in the snow, but they’re definitely cute and fun to wear. Besides, if the patent styles aren’t up to par, there are always the just-as-nice non-leather versions like the checkered flannel and the nylon uppers:

Kids’ snow boots are priced the same as adult snow boots, if not a bit higher. That might sound totally unfair considering that children’s feet are obviously tinier and would therefore need less materials, but from a manufacturer’s point of view, smaller things are actually harder to make.
