Kerry Washington attended the 2011 Do Something Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium last Sunday.

She showed off her lithe frame in this black lace and blush silk one-shouldered mini dress from Lebanese fashion designer Zuhair Murad’s Fall 2011 collection:

Kerry seems to have an affinity for matching her clothes to her shoes — she did the same thing with her silver dress and silver shoes at the 2011 ESPY Awards last month!

That’s right, this Carlos by Carlos Santana shoe looks like the ankle boot version of this Jimmy Choo Feline lace-up sandal bootie! :

High-end shoes such as this one often have knockoffs but it’s rare that we get a boot version. So let’s appreciate it more and check out their similarities in these pictures where I’ve put them side-by-side:

The Fortunes are obviously not a dead-on knockoff of the Felines but they’re not bad for an “inspired-by version”, aren’t they?

Carlos by Carlos Santana did away with the lace-up front but they retained the peekaboo style with cutouts. They also covered up the toe and more of the ankles so they’ve completely removed the sandal part of the “sandal bootie” description of the Jimmy Choos. The best part is they kept the elaphe (snakeskin) trim. Although it’s not on heel counter anymore, it looks great going down and covering up that 4-inch stiletto heel.

Our sister site Your Next Shoes already wrote about these shoes we’re featuring today way back in January but that was when they were desperate for new spring shoe styles and we were still reveling in all the gorgeous fall/winter boots.

But now that we’re officially a little over two weeks into spring — and much too late to be holding on to last season’s boots — we figured that NOW is the perfect time feature these shoes.

So even though we’re a little late in writing about them here on Boots 4 You compared to most blogs, we think your disappointment with us will disappear once you lay eyes on these wondrous Whirl wedge booties from Carlos by Carlos Santana:

The Carlos by Carlos Santana Whirl wedge booties feature a snake-embossed leather upper accented with tonal patent leather on the ankle strap, soles and along the back of the heel. You can adjust the buckled ankle strap according to how you want it to fit but it’s that sexy back zipper that’s the real entry of this shoe!

A word of warning though: the height on that covered wedge heel is a staggering 4 inches so if you’re not comfortable with that, we suggest you leave it to the pros. Not only because that’s a HIGH heel to teeter on but also because these wedge booties don’t have any platform sole whatsoever to help balance out the heel height.
