Hilary Duff’s expensive, high-end, mostly designer style rarely excites me but I have to admit, the girl does know how to make her clothes work for more than one occasion.

She did it with her Rag & Bone denim leggings last week and she did it again with this Pilates outfit this week, accessorizing it with wayfarers, gold hoop earrings, a black summer scarf and Chanel brown leather boots to make it more than paparazzi-ready and picture-worthy:

IMHO, Hilary Duff could’ve done away with everything else because those beyond beautiful Chanel boots could carry the entire outfit!

They kind of look like the knee high version of Claudia Schiffer’s cognac-colored thigh Chanel boots, don’t you think? Except Hilary Duff’s boots don’t have a zipper opening anywhere and are just in a pull-on style. Makes you wonder how in the world Hilary Duff got these boots on but as you can probably judge from the close-up picture, the leather is so pliable, flexible and buttery soft you’d be tempted to try and spread it on toast.

Hilary Duff was spotted having lunch with husband Mike Comrie and mom Susan at Il Pastaio restaurant in Beverly Hills, California last Wednesday.

The always impeccably styled Hilary wore an all-black outfit for the family affair, only breaking up the monotone with an olive green Balenciaga Work/Office bag slung over her shoulder.

You know what, I’m going to admit that I paired two different prints at one point in my life too. The magazine where I got the idea from said that the trick was to keep the prints within the same color family! Well, Hilary must’ve read the same magazine I did because she obviously got that part down. It’s a cute look on Hil but I wish her pants were simpler and had less details and that she used all grey colors to accessorize her outfit.

As for her boots, Hilary Duff is wearing these gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain khaki canvas booties:

These are very Hilary and their $1,195 price tag is very much in her range too! But as much as I love these bangin’ booties, I find them to be the most mismatched part of Hilary’s outfit. She could’ve gone for something more everyday for this shopping trip and reserved these babies for a special occasion.

Oh well, I guess when you’re a celebrity with oodles of money, you can wear thousand-dollar boots wherever and whenever you want to.

You guys must’ve come across the story about Hilary Duff spending a grand total of six hours at the Epoch Hair Salon in Beverly Hills last February 16th.

Okay, so maybe not since it’s not breaking news or anything, but Hilary Duff did come out of the salon that day looking very lovely even if all she was wearing was a simple loose white t-shirt and blue skinny jeans:

Hilary Duff here might be wearing what I would call “lazy day clothes” (which I am guilty of wearing all the time), but the girl KNOWS just how to accessorize.

Boot Battle: Alexander McQueen Lace Up Leather Ankle Boots Vs. L.A.M.B. Gais Boots

I first saw the drop dead gorgeous Alexander McQueen Lace Up Leather Ankle Boots on Hilary Duff and they’ve been imprinted on my mind since then:

They’re really unforgettable: those metal lace-up hooks, those quilted stripes and that overly rounded and extended bicycle toe make them odd-looking but in a fascinating way.

They’re the kind of shoes that really make an impression. Just look at them:

The style is so distinctive that when I first saw these boots, I immediately associated this design with Alexander McQueen.

So when I came across these L.A.M.B. Gais Boots, I couldn’t help but accuse L.A.M.B. of copying Alexander McQueen:

Nevermind that these are higher, have foldover cuffs and don’t have the quilted stripes; that toe, the metal hooks and the overall shape of these L.A.M.B. boots look like they’ve been copied from the McQueens.

L.A.M.B. actually happens to be one of my favorite shoe brands. I love Gwen Stefani and I love designs she and her team come up with for L.A.M.B. But what do you think about these boots? Are they copies or are they just “inspired by” Alexander McQueen?

I can’t really say if they’re copies or not but I really didn’t expect this, especially from such an original brand like L.A.M.B.

Anyway, at the very least, L.A.M.B. gives us a much cheaper alternative to the Alexander McQueen Lace Up Leather Ankle Boots. The L.A.M.B. Gais Boots are $349.00, which is comparatively inexpensive to the $1,099 Alexander McQueen boots.

Hilary Duff Looks for Her Dog in Koolaburra Erika Tall Boots

Hilary Duff may have had a horrible Valentine’s when her dog went missing that day, but we all know that it all had a happy ending. Not only did Hilary Duff find her 2-year-old Bermese Mountain Dog DuBois, but four days later on February 19, she got engaged to her long-time boyfriend Mike Comrie! Congratulations to the Duffster!

These were taken when Hilary Duff went out of her house to ask photographers to help her look for DuBois. If this is what she wears as house clothes, then whoever says celebrities live just like us average people can’t be “just average” themselves.

Hot Winter Boot Style – Muk Luks

In 2004, back when she was still making movies and famously had red hair, Lindsay Lohan had the power to walk out of a store carrying a pair of really odd-looking pom pom fur boots and spur a pom pom fur boot trend the very next day:

The boots were called Muk Luks. Muk Luks, by Wikipedia’s definition, is the generic name for soft boots made out of reindeer or sealskin, lined with animal fur, and adorned with beads, embroidery, and/or pom poms:

Even without mentioning their um, strange appearance, the animal fur lining alone should’ve shunned sane people away from Muk Luks. But such is the power of celebrity: despite the monstrosity of killing animals just for fur – and eyeball-wrecking patterns, – Lindsay Lohan’s Muk Luks endorsement prompted other well-known celebrities to start wearing the pom pom fur boots which led to mass fanaticism over Muk Luks.

Oh and this was in the same era when UGGs first came out. People sure went gaga for fur boot trends during that time.
