Timberland, manufactured by The Timberland Company, is world famous for a number of lines of outdoors wear, primarily boots. Timberland founder, Nathan Swartz, began his
boot making career in 1918 as an apprentice stitcher in Boston, Massachusetts. After starting his own company, Nathan developed a new injection-molding technology that fused soles to leather uppers without stitching, producing what may have been the world's first fully waterproof boots.
The name Timberland was born in 1973, and was originally the brand name for the original waterproof leather boot. Soon, the company developed an excellent collection of casual and boat shoes, and suddenly Timberland was more than just a pioneering boot company. Today, Timberland offers customers a wide range of fantastic products, and we can only imagine how proud Nathan Swartz would have been if he could have seen his company today.
